Meet The Team

The Committee

KVG is run by a Committee of 7 elected members who all work as volunteers to manage the club on a day to day basis. Most positions are held for 3 years. The Committee meets monthly and welcomes member feedback at all times.

Suzie

Chair Suzie joined in 2018 after accidentally cycling from London to Paris on the back on a tandem. Bitten by the cycling bug, she joined KVG and has never looked back. Suzie loves to experience all types of cycling including bike packing adventures, French Cols and, of course, Club rides.

 Janet

Vice Chair Janet only started cycling during lockdown but since then has embraced every challenge that has come her way, including the epic ride that is Chase the Sun, twice, with sights set on CTS Italy in 2024. As well as being Vice Chair, Janet is chief cake maker, fuelling the Committee through their monthly meetings.

Elena

Treasurer Elena joined KVG in 2021 as soon as she got her first road bike. She enjoys the social aspect of cycling outdoors all year round and keeps going through the winter both outside and in our turbo sessions. Elena wants to try everything the club has to offer and loves an adventure!

Caroline

Social and Events Secretary Caroline organises our many social and special events ranging from First Aid evenings to the One Day Tour to the Christmas meal. Caroline joined the club in 2019, completed her first 100 ride in 2020 and a went on to do a 200 miler in 2021. Caroline has now completed Chase the Sun 3 times.

Sarah

Membership secretary Sarah is the first point of call for new and prospective members and organises our regular induction sessions. Sarah was new to cycling and joined KVG in 2018 and cycling is now an important part of her life . As well as regular riding, she spends many holidays on her bike including cycling Sydney to Melbourne this year!

Jackie

Club Secretary Jackie joined KVG in 2015 as a complete novice on a road bike and enjoys riding the easy-int rides and doing as many of the longer outings as possible in the Spring and Summer.  Joining the KVG brought regular, more demanding exercise into Jackie’s life and is a lovely way of making friends and enjoying the outdoors.

Catherine

Social Media and Communications Secretary Catherine joined KVG in the autumn of 2021 and got to know many of the club members over the winter, through Discord and racing with KVG Pink on Zwift! When it comes to riding outside, Catherine is happiest going uphill, and loves the long rides the club offers in the spring and summer.

Our Coaches

At KVG and KVB we have a number of members who have completed British Cycling coaching qualifications in order to support the Club and its members.

Bee Gregorie

President & Head Coach
British Cycling Level 3 (Road & TT)

Bee started coaching back in 2008, when it became clear that the newly formed KVG would need some skills and guidance in order to progress and develop as cyclists.

Now Bee works mainly with groups and individuals preparing for challenges, working on skills and specific fitness.

She feels great pride when she drives past groups of KVG all riding neatly in an egg box!

KVG Limericks…

There was a lady cyclist from Kent

‘I’m too slow’ was her only lament

She trained on her turbo

And found her speed mojo

In her pace she is now confident

Frances Thomas

There was a lady cyclist from Kent

Who loved the roads that were bent

Straight road were a bore

And the hills were a chore

But watch out for her on the descents!
