Kent Velo Kids

Kent Velo Kids

The Kent Velo Kids started as the kids section of the KVG.  We are now a separately affiliated club but are still part of the KVG family.  We offer a range of sessions; all new members start by taking part in Go Ride coaching sessions.

Our coaches will then be able to help you choose the right sessions for your child. We operate a Pay As You Go system; once you’ve decided you like us we’ll ask you to take out membership of British Cycling.

Kent Velo Kids Sessions

Go-ride coaching sessions at Stocks Green School, Hildenborough.

The bread and butter of the club, this is where our young riders learn new skills and practise existing ones to make them top class bike handlers. Skills and games with an element of competition.

Go ride racing sessions at Stocks Green

We also run regular sessions focused on racing and competition, some of which will be open to riders from outside the club. No special equipment is required to take part. Adult helpers always welcome.

Ride-outs

These are off site rides which are suitable for riders who are developing fitness and have good skills. They range from 5 – 10 miles and may include some riding on quiet roads. Adult riders are always welcome.

Youth rides

These are off site rides suitable for road bikes only. They range from 10 – 35 miles and involve riding on a variety of roads.  These rides are open to our regular riders who have already demonstrated a high level of skill, fitness and commitment to club sessions. Bikes must be fitted with mudguards from October to April.

Other sessions

In addition to our own sessions we encourage riders to take part in sessions at other local cycling venues and clubs, for example Cyclopark, Gravesend and Bedgebury Forest.
